BEFORE YOU GET STARTED:
We recommend having a few things on hand to make the decluttering process easier and more productive:- Totes to sort items you want to sell, trash, or donate.
- 3 Plastic under-the-sink storage baskets and/or containers - we found great baskets at the dollar store, a cost-effective solution. We recommend plastic in case any products leak it's a quick clean-up vs cloth.
- Cleaning Supplies - Window cleaner, bleach, vinegar, toilet bowl cleaner, scrub brush, cloth, and paper towel.
PRO TIP:
We spoke with a cleaner at @nowitscleanpa in Prince Albert, and she gave us a list of commonly found items to discard that her clients don't miss:- Expired toiletries
- Out-of-date beauty products
- Old Medications
- Sample size products
- Old toothbrushes
- Empty products containers
- Worn-out towels, we suggest repurposing these into rags!
LET'S GET STARTED!
Below is a list of items that we find essential in the bathroom. We recommend only keeping items you use daily in your bathroom. Extra linens, medications, and cleaning supplies are best stored in a linen closet to make a bathroom less congested.BATHROOM ESSENTIALS:
- 2 sets of bath towels, hand towels, washcloths
- Non-skid tub mat
- Soap dispenser or dish
- Shower curtain, liner, & rings
- Shower caddy/suction basket(s)
- Under-the-sink storage baskets and/or containers
- Clothes hamper
- Wastebasket
- Toothbrush holder
- Extra toilet paper
- Plunger (hidden out of sight!)
- First, we recommend taking everything out of your bathroom and placing it in a box. This will allow you to go through each item one by one - a great visual to ensure only the must-have items are being placed back.
- Vacuum and wipe the vanity, drawers, and shelves. This is a great opportunity to clean the shower/tub and wash the floors.
- Start sorting by looking at each item and decide what to keep. Place the items you want to sell, trash, or donate into the totes.
- Put items back into designated plastic storage baskets: Personal Care Products, Personal Care Tools, and Cosmetic Products.
Finally, your bathroom is a place to refresh and relax!
